Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer of Upic since 2000. Began United Way career in 1982 with executive positions in Louisville, Hampton, and Lexington and then joined Upic in 2000 as the first staff member of the organization.  Upic believes in outstanding customer service beyond typical IT hosting & hardware.  I believe we help our United Way members focus more of their resources on their mission by focusing on actionable information and local relationships. My wife Susie owns and manages two online businesses, including one for interior residential/commercial design and one for outdoor pond accessories.   Outside of the office, I love reading biographies and training for the annual Komen 60 mile breast cancer walk.

I have been a Developer for Upic Solutions since 2004, but have worked in the IT business with the United Way since 1999. Working at Upic, I have found that our customers provide us with everyday challenges to meet their customers’ needs to improve their lives. I am married to a hearing impaired woman, and do not know a lick of sign language. I guess I am just LOUD—that’s what she tells me! (Andar & FMS-14 years)

I have been the office manager for Upic Solutions since September, 2011. Working for Upic and the United Way make me feel like I am making a difference in the world around me. I like to think that in some way, I am helping people who are down in their luck, and need a helping hand. When not at work, I enjoy taking long walks and scrapbooking. I have participated in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer four times, raising over $10,000 in the fight against this terrible disease.

I’m proud to be a part of a complex team that ultimately helps people in a tangible way. We’re making a difference…together; because small things done with great love will change the world. I am a Business Analyst Specialist at Upic Solutions. I started working at the United Way of Greater Toledo in 1979, then joined the Upic team in 2008. I get to work with a very diverse group of people from across the country, including United Way staff, agency staff, company employees, donors and Upic staff. They are all working together to help people in need and make their communities a better place. It’s a great feeling to know that I’m contributing to that. One thing that amazes me, though, is how appreciative everyone is for the information and help I provide. When I’m not driving my two teenagers somewhere, I enjoy Zumba classes, reading, golf and gardening. (Andar & FMS-20 years)

I started working at Upic Solutions as a Senior Systems Administrator in 2012, and have been working in IT since 1999 where I started as an IT intern. As far back as I can remember, I have been interested in technology – anything from remote controlled cars to computers. I am working at Upic because it is a great opportunity to utilize my strengths in technology, helping the United Way communities, along with my co-workers, who make this a great place to work. I also enjoy working around my garden and house, which was built in the 1930’s.

I have been a Technical Support Specialist at Upic Solutions since June of 2010. A quote that I really like that applies to my work at Upic is, “Sometimes success is just out of reach, and an extra hand is required; don’t be afraid to ask.” When I’m not working, I’d like to think that I am an aspiring guitarist.

I had a 21 year career with Delta Airlines before starting in the field of IT. Then after two years of IT work, I found my way to Upic Solutions in 2010. My Upic colleagues had good fun with me when I started because I could never quite remember when we were off for a holiday. This is the first job in my life at a company that was not open every single day of the year! Outside of work, my family gets most of my time. Occasionally I also sneak in some time to play guitar with a band.

I then attended my first two and half years of college at Ricks College (Brigham Young University – Idaho) in Rexburg, Idaho. While at Ricks, I was actively involved in anything that had to do with music. I attended Portland State University in Portland, Oregon where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Human Resources Management in 2004 and then a Post-Baccalaureate in Business Information Systems in 2009. I married Julia, my college sweet heart, in June of 1998. We now have six beautiful children and enjoy spending time camping, canoeing, hiking, and anything else that has to do with the outdoors. I am a Technical Support Associate for Upic Solutions. I began working in the field of IT in 2005, and was hired by Upic in 2010. Why do I work at Upic? Fyodor Dostoevsky said it best: “Deprived of meaningful work, men and women lose their reason for existence; they go stark, raving mad.” I am recently married, am an amateur photographer and avid couponer. I have six furry children, enjoy gardening and new wine experiences.
